Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a trauma treatment that uses adaptive information processing (AIP) to help patients overcome emotional dysregulation and dysfunctional belief systems installed through traumatic experiences.

Traumatic experiences are often defended by and abnormally stored in the nervous system, resulting in emotional distress and symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Camden Center’s trained EMDR therapists help patients reprocess traumatic experiences, reintegrate the experience into their sense of self, and begin to resolve the emotional responses and belief systems that were dominated by trauma.
